Party in the Paddock is not a small thing. Tasmania's largest multi-day camping festival Greatwesterntiers, four days across six stages at Quercus Park in Carrick — 170+ acts, live music, art, and entertainment from February 6 to 9 Live Music Australia. The 2025 lineup included Empire of the Sun, Aurora, Amyl & The Sniffers, Oliver Tree, and The Kooks That Festival Site, alongside a long list of Australian artists that kept the stages running from morning to late.

We set up our matcha stall on the grounds and stayed for all four days.

The Alternative Dairy Co came on board as our milk sponsor — oat, almond, and soy — so every cup we poured had the right foundation. Matcha lattes in the sun, cold matcha over ice, straight whisked bowls for the people who knew what they were doing. We served all of it.

Festival crowds and matcha are a better pairing than they look on paper. People come looking for something that isn't another beer or energy drink. They find a matcha and stay talking for twenty minutes. That happened a lot at the Paddock.

Northern Tasmania in February is warm, green, and unhurried in the way that regional Australian summer tends to be. The festival sits on farmland by the Liffey River and carries a community energy that's rare at events this size. We felt it immediately and understood why people come back every year.

This was our first time at the Paddock. It won't be the last.
